Kantha, as we know, is a popular form of embroidery from West Bengal made on cotton saris, each stitch a silent prayer for the daughter’s happiness and long life. These saris when discarded or old are patched together to form quilts – which are procured directly from the sellers by Kinche and upcycled into exclusive and exquisite military-style short jackets for women, long jackets, bombers, oversized blazers, dresses and skirts. The leftover fabric becomes pouches, buntings and pillow stuffing, ensuring zero wastage.
